Straus chronicles her long involvement with The Museum of Modern Art beginning with her arrival at the Museum as an initial member of the Junior Council. She highlights some of the Junior Council's early activities and contributions to the Museum, including the Art Lending Service. She gives a lively picture of the International Council, of which she eventually became President, and some of its most successful trips. Straus describes her duties as head of the Museum's House Committee and of her interest in the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden and its redesign in 1984.
